THE JOURNEY SO FAR.......
Araromi-Ayesan Oil Palm PLC is a sustainable oil palm plantation that has been producing high-quality palm oil since its establishment.
Araromi-Ayesan Oil Palm Plc is located at Araromi-Obu, off Shagamu-Ore expressway branching at Oniparaga junction with its registered office at the Oil Palm house Araromi-Obu.
Around 1952, The Western Regional Government established a number of Agricultural projects throughout the Region after identifying agriculture as the cornerstone on which future industrial development would depend.
Araromi-Ayesan Oil Palm plantation was one of such projects and its development commenced in 1953 under the Western Region Production Development board (WRPDB) which metamorphosed into Western Nigeria Development Corporation (WNDC) and later Western State Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (WSAIIC) Ibadan.
As a result of State creation in 1976, Araromi-Ayesan Oil palm plantation was ceded to Ondo State, and the plantation was managed by Ondo State Investment Corporation Akure. In 1986, the Ondo State Investment Holding Company Limited was established and Araromi-Ayesan Oil palm plantation became a division of the Company. In 1988, the Plantation was ceded to Okitipupa Oil Palm Company Limited, Okitipupa, for better management and was later reverted to Ondo State Investment Holding Company Limited in 1988/90 when it was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company and was registered as Araromi-Ayesan Oil Palm Estate Limited. In 1991, the Company went Public and the shares were sold to public through private placement and it thus became a public Liability Company (PLC).
As its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 20th November 1992 at the banquet Hall, Harreth Hotel, Araromi-Obu, the Company’s name was change to ‘’ARAROMI-AYESAN OIL PALM PLC’’.
In March 2004, The Ondo State Government engaged Modell Consultant, a Consulting firm to reposition the Company for sustainable profitability. After 6 years of non-improvement in the fortunes of the Company, the Modell Consultant was removed to pave way for a core-investor.
Thus, by January 17th 2014, The Slabmark Nigeria Limited was officially engaged as a core-investor with 75% share holding capacity to revive the Company, and the Core-investor has been managing the Company since then till date.

Our Profile
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT US
The Company’s products are special Palm Oil and Palm Kernel. The Company has three estates located in Araromi, Ayesan and Ode-Obu covering a total of 1290 hectares of matured trees and about 2210 hectares of reserved land available for development. Out of the 3,500 ha size of the Company, only 1112 ha are planted with palm trees leaving a balance of 2388 ha as reserved land waiting for development.
At the inception of the Core-Investor in 2014, the processing mill of the Company was refurnished and upgraded from 6 ton ffb per hour capacity to 16 ton ffb per hour.
Furthermore, to enhance improved utilization capacity of the mill, the Company decided to engaged in leasing of oil palm plantations to boost the level of fresh fruit bunches available for processing. A total of 610.4 ha has been leased bringing the total area under harvesting to 1,783.4 ha as at the end of 2021.
The Company has three estates located in Araromi, Ayesan and Ode-Obu.

Agriculture Company with a Sustainable Vision
Araromi-Ayesan Oil Palm PLC was founded with a vision to create a sustainable and responsible agriculture company. Our founders recognized the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental and social responsibility, and they set out to create a company that could achieve both.
The Company has a lot of potentials in terms of revenue generation and employment opportunities. With the present standard employment ratio in the Industry 5 ha to 1 person, the 3500 ha will provide direct employment to 700 people that will be gainfully employed throughout the year and another 2,800 indirect employment when fully developed. Furthermore, to enhance improved utilization capacity of the mill, the Company decided to engaged in leasing of oil palm plantations to boost the level of fresh fruit bunches available for processing.
Over the years, we have remained true to this vision, and today, we are proud to be one of the leading sustainable oil palm plantations in the region. Our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from our farming practices to our community engagement.
